Allen Event Center plans upgrades, repairs

MAY 13, 2021 - Money-saving upgrades, audiovisual improvements and cosmetic repairs will soon begin at Allen Event Center.

New AV upgrades coming to Allen Event Center
Allen Event Center will soon begin upgrading audiovisual equipment at the 7,000-seat arena. Allen City Council approved the $200,000 contract in April 2021. The new equipment will save money on electricity and long-term costs and is a great amenity for those using/renting the building.

LED light replacement
In April 2021, Council approved a lighting replacement contract for the Allen Event Center garage, which will reflect new energy efficiency and lighting standards. The conversion to energy efficient LED lights will decrease electricity consumption and maintenance costs along with providing a safer environment for garage users.

Repairs planned for South Parking Garage
The southwest corner of the garage’s ground floor sustained significant cosmetic damage from a vehicle fire in April 2020. In May, Allen City Council approved a repair contract totaling $107,227.
