OnStage @ APL presents Kithara Duo and Collin College Guitar Ensemble

Savor the music of Olga Amelkina-Vera and Fernand Vera, along with an assortment of Celtic and Renaissance traditional tunes performed by the Collin College Guitar Ensemble. The program will also include holiday songs from around the world.
Acclaimed for its “touching musicality, elegant presentation, and seamless coordination” by Fort-Worth Star-Telegram, Kithara Duo’s Olga Amelkina-Vera and Fernand Vera celebrate 20 years of performing together. The two have played in Europe, South America, and the US.
Since 2012, Fernand has directed the thriving Guitar Studies program at Collin College in Plano, TX. He has also written several guitar method books, including The Beginning Guitar Method, Vol. 1. now in its sixth edition (co-written with Olga Amelkina-Vera).
Olga won first prize in the 2013 Japan Guitar Ensemble Composition Competition for her quartet Cattywampus Rompus (Texas Tarantella) and was interviewed by Gendai Guitar during her trip to Tokyo.
The Collin College Guitar Ensemble is part of the Department of Music at Collin College.
