Municipal Utilities Usage for Calendar Year 2022
The City of Allen is a customer of natural gas, electricity and water just like any other resident or business in Allen.
The City purchases natural gas from ATMOS Energy and COSERV. In calendar year 2022, the City purchased a total of 357,715 hundred cubic feet (CCF) of natural gas. The City’s largest natural gas consuming facilities are the Allen Event Center, the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium, the Allen Public Library, the Allen Senior Recreation Center, and City Hall.
The City purchases electricity from Grayson-Collin Electric Cooperative, COSERV, and Gexa Energy. In calendar year 2022, the City purchased a total of 31,018,923 kilowatt hours of electricity. The City’s largest electric usage categories were water pumping, street lighting, the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium, Parks and Sport Field Lighting, the Municipal Library, the Allen Senior Recreation Center, the Allen Event Center, and the City Hall Complex of facilities that includes the Allen City Hall, the Municipal Court and Parks and Recreation Building (MCPAR), the Police Station, and the Municipal Annex.
The City purchases water from the Allen Water and Sewer fund in the same way as other residential or commercial customers. In calendar year 2022, the City purchased 148,439,600 gallons of water to support use in and around municipal facilities, median landscape maintenance, and parks irrigation.
In calendar year 2022, the City of Allen spent a total of $4,431,619 for natural gas, electricity and water.
