Do-It-Yourself Disposal

If you live in Allen, you can use “do-it-yourself” trash disposal at various North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) facilities. Residents may dispose of up to two loads of household trash per month at the facilities listed below, as well as up to two loads of yard waste per month at the Texas Pure Products Wood Grinding Facility.

Before planning a trip, consult the facility list below or visit NTMWD.com/facilities. All disposal facilities closed Sundays and major holidays.

Remember to bring your current City of Allen water utility bill and Texas driver's license; addresses must match.

Service guidelines

  • All loads must be covered (tarped or tied down) according to State law.
  • Permitted items (up to 8 feet in any dimension) include household garbage, packing material, home and lawn furniture, mattresses and box springs, grills (no propane tanks), lawn mowers (oil and gas removed) and appliances.
  • Loads must arrive in a car, pickup truck or flat-bed rental truck available at home improvement stores. No commercial loads, stake bed trucks or box trucks permitted.

NTMWD Disposal Facilities

Before planning a trip, consult the facility list below or visit NTMWD.com/facilities. All disposal facilities closed Sundays and major holidays.

For commercial waste: NTMWD only accepts credit/debit cards or the customer must have an existing Commercial Solid Waste (CSW) account. A CSW account requires a minimum $500 monthly charge. The transfer stations do not accept cash or checks. To set up an account or inquire about terms and conditions, please visit the contact page. Commercial disposal cost is $58 per ton, with a one-ton minimum charge (plus sales tax).

Residential vouchers are not applied to commercial loads. All commercial trucks will be charged the commercial fee, even if presenting a residential water bill.

Limited quantity construction and demolition materials: fence panels, soil, brick and concrete (resident will incur disposal fee)*

All appliances take to this facility are landfilled. Appliances with Freon are not accepted.

*Residents may dispose of these wastes as part of the free residential waste drop-off, provided these wastes make up 10% or less of the total amount by volume being disposed. The entire load will be rejected if unacceptable wastes comprise more than 10% of the load. Residents may then pay for disposal at NTMWD's 121 Regional Disposal Facility.

Texas Pure Products Wood Grinding Facility

Brick, rock, gravel, concrete, dirt, sod, carpet and fence panels must be taken to this facility and will incur a disposal fee to be paid by resident. No uncovered/unsecured loads accepted.
