Citizens Fire Academy

Citizens Fire Academy (CFA) is an eight-week program that gives residents an opportunity to learn about about Allen Fire Department's structure and operations. The course is free and takes place each spring.

Participants must be at least age 18 and live or work in Allen. If you have questions, call our Public Education Coordinator at 214.509.4420.

Course enrollment

Enrollment is closed for spring 2022. Come back to this page for information on spring 2023 enrollment!
The course takes place on 10 consecutive Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Enrollment is limited to first 20 applicants. Mandatory background check performed all applications.

What you'll experience:

  • Demonstrations of emergency operations
  • Fire and life safety training
  • Optional: Ride along with on-duty firefighters on emergency calls
While the CFA program offers in-depth understanding of the department, the program is not to be confused with a fire service training academy for future career firefighters.
